Other shit I haven't made yet

Here are a few wallpapers I've been working on recently.  Most of them are still works in progress, at least until I lose interest in that particular project.  Follow the links to the left to find all of the others.  One of these days those will be categorized, but not today. Buffy's on, and I do have to keep my priorities straight.

I use Bryce, Poser, Photoshop, and a few other programs for my graphics.  A lot of the models in the pictures are from Renderosity and 3DCafe.  Most of them are from old zipfiles, and after a labor dispute with my old hard drive I don't have too many of the READMEs to be able to give proper credit.  I'll try to cite sources where I can, but I apologize to those others I don't have the info for.

Sunset Jetty - 1024x768

A couple of towns over from where I grew up, there's a jetty that sticks out on the end of a peninsula into the harbor. I used to walk out to the end of the jetty where there was a small concrete platform for a small light tower, and just hang out with a friend of mine. For reasons I won't go into, I started thinking about those times the other day, and this is the result.

The Tree - 1024x768

This was another experiment that became a neat little abstract. It's the first time I made a postable wallpaper using the "Premium Render" option in Bryce.

Finger of Creation - 1152x864

More tinkering on the laptop with some reflections and "Oooh, shiny!"  I may go back and fix the lightning, but I dug the picture despite it.

Torii - 1152x864

I was sitting waiting for someone to arrive and pulled out my laptop to tinker with some materials in Bryce. I started with just one ring, but ended up with this. I liked it, so I rendered it to background size.

Lonely Island - 1152x864

I had just finished reading a pretty cool short story about a remote outpost in a world overrun by demons, and made this image.  I ended up making a version with trees and more detail in the "castle", but the stark one seemed better.

Wizard's Prize -

I found this staff on a website and began to make a scene of a wizard's workshop.  While poking around a different site, I found a neat volumetric light tutorial and began making this dais. I got the column from Renderosity.

Quincy Sandbar -

My grandfather and I used to go fishing in Boston Harbor, and we must have wrecked a dozen propellers on a sandbar sticking out from one of the islands.  When he passed away in December of 1999, I made this one as a sort of memorial to him and those propellers.
